The most awaited Bird of Prey film featuring Emmy-award winning wildlife cinematographer Neil Rettig and the majestic Philippine Eagle made its Manila premiere on April 3, 2019.
The first screening of the movie was held at the Cinema 1 of Greenbelt 3 in Makati and was attended by some of the PEF’s longtime partners and donors including the PEF’s Board of Trustees, Chairman Ed Chua, President Felicia Atienza, Treasurer Johnson Ongking, Mr. Joselito “Butch” Campos, Mr. Robert Lehman and Ms. Emily Abrera. Mr. Fernando Zobel de Ayala, President and CEO of the Ayala Corporation, Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Joseph Del Mar Yap, Singapore Ambassador to the Philippines Gerard Ho Wei Hong, Chief of the USAID/Philippines Environment Office John Edgar, and USAID Deputy Chief John Seong also graced the event.
A question and answer session with Mr. Neil Rettig, Ms. Laura Johnson, PEF Executive Director Dennis Salvador and PEF Director for Research and Conservation Jayson Ibanez followed the screening.
The film shot in ultra HD tells the story of how a family of Philippine Eagle survives in today’s forest landscape and the several factors that pushed the species to the brink of extinction. Ultimately, the film aims to inspire and mobilize people from all walks of life to do more for the Philippine Eagle, its habitat and the people who share its forest home.
