Agroforestry and Rainforestation Training Empowers Kilag-odan Apo Datu Nanikunan Tribal Association Incorporated (KADNTAI) Community

The KADNTAI community in Barangay Guilang-Guilang received a four-day training on agroforestry and rainforestation from January 9–12, 2025. Sir Mark Anthony L. Lawani, EnP of MENRO Tarragona, shared his expertise and provided insigtful guidance on sustainable environmental management during the event. The event was made possible with the support of Filinvest Development Corporation (FDC) Utilities Incorporated and was skillfully facilitated by Sir Guiller Opiso.

Key techniques such as contour farming, intercropping, tree-crop combinations, reforestation, native tree cultivation, and nursery management were taught in the event. Its goal was to enable women, Indigenous youth, and forest guards to collaborate on conservation and communal decision-making.

Agroforestry items like fruits, crops, and ecotourism taught participants how to build sustainable lives. In order to increase biodiversity, strengthen water systems, increase climate resilience, and save species, the program concentrated on reforesting areas with native trees.

By blending traditional knowledge with modern methods, the training promoted environmental stewardship and set the stage for sustainable forest management, benefiting both the community and the environment.
