The Philippine Eagle Foundation and the Philippines Biodiversity Conservation Foundation, Inc. (PBCFI) organized the 5th National Wildlife Quizbowl at the Malayan Colleges Mindanao in Davao City on November 26, 2019.
Negros Occidental High School took the first place followed by the Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod in 2nd place and the Holy Infant Academy in 3rd place, out of 27 institutions that competed.
The quiz bowl proper was followed by short lectures by guest speakers- Mr. Martin Pineda, President of Mountain Haven Development Inc and Member of Birders without Borders, Mr. Anthony Arbias, President of the Philippine Native Plant Conservation Society, Inc., Dr. Arvin Diesmos, Senior Researcher at the Philippine National Museum of Natural History, and Dr. Analyn Cabras, National Geographic Fellow and Senior Researcher at the University of Mindanao Coleoptera Center.
