PEF CELEBRATES INDIGENOUS PEOPLES MONTH
Last October 28, 2016, the PEF organized the event Tagbo Ta! in celebration of the Indigenous People’s month to commemorate the invaluable participation of the IP communities in protecting the Philippine eagle and its forest habitat. Tagbo Ta! is a soft launch of the PEF’s 30th anniversary celebration next year.
The event was attended by PEF’s partner communities from Sitio Carmen and Sicao and students from UIC-IBED, Philippine Women’s College of Davao, Davao Doctors’ College and PEF volunteers.
The event aimed toengage a harmonious relationship with the youth and the PEF partner communities, through games and other activities. Moreover, a showcase of the IP culture through dances and rendition of stories based on IP folklores were part of the program so to create a sense of understanding and encourage appreciation of the PEF partner communities’ culture and the work they do in protecting the Philippine Eagle and its natural habitat.
The Philippine Eagle Foundation is grateful for the support of our partners, UyMasuy Wine Factory Inc., DOLE Philippines, Leandro’s Catering Services, 90.7 Love Radio, People’s Park, National Commission on Indigenous Peoples, UIC-IBED, Davao Doctor’s College, Philippine Women’s College of Davao and PEF Volunteers, for helping us make this event possible.
