Last April, experts in raptor training came to the Philippine Eagle Center to train Imbulog to stand on fist and fly towards a target. This was for a documentary by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology to help the PEF campaign further this time to an international audience.

Post-training, Imbulog remains active and is not aggressive to its keeper. This makes it potential to continue teaching him close encounter activities with his keeper. With the donated falconry equipment we recently received, Imbulog will be given enrichment activities to prepare him as a bird ambassador. This will make him adjusted to the presence of guests giving them an interactive and up-close experience with the Philippine Eagle. This will help us better educate our visitors about the conservation mission.

Imbulog has almost reached his sexual maturity and will soon join the ranks of breeding candidates. With the continued partnership and support of Du Pont, we can ensure Imbulog’s progress in the coming years.
